You've got no taste!
April 23rd
Stuff you'll need
*A blindfold
*Apple
*Onion
*Potato

Place a blindfold around your friend's eyes. Make your friend hold his/her nose, then place a small piece of apple, potato, or onion on the center of his/her tongue. Ask your friend to tell you what's piece is on their tongue just by taste and without chewing. Do the same thing with the other two pieces of food. Your friend won't be able to taste the difference between a piece of apple, onion, and potato!

WHY THIS HAPPENS
Your taste buds are tiny organs on your tongue that identify four basic tastes: salt, sweet, sour, and bitter. Since the center of your tongue has fewer taste buds than any other part of the tongue, it's hard to recognize foods that are only placed there. Our sense of taste is actually a combination of the taste, smell, and texture of foods. This activity gets rid of a person's sense of smell and texture, leaving your friends with a mystery in their mouth!
